Terms of Sale

Availability

As some of our items are offered on other platforms as well as in our open shop, items purchased may have sold; as such, all items are subject to prior sale. Please reach out to place a book on hold if you are seriously considering it, or to confirm availability. Items can be held for in-person inspection and pickup at our shop; please reach out before visiting, as not all inventory is held at the shop.

Payment

For orders placed online at tristannavarro.com, we accept payment via all major credit and debit cards (processed via Square), as well as personal or business checks drawn on a US Bank (orders will not ship until checks clear). At this time we cannot accept bank wire transfers. You may also pay with cash by arranging in-person pickup.

Institutions

Billing according to institutional needs can be accommodated, please reach out for details.

Sales Tax

For shipments and pickups within the state of California, all applicable state and local sales tax will apply.

Those with a valid reseller certificate on file will not be charged sales tax, please indicate such in the comments section when ordering.

Shipping

Our standard shipping method is the cheapest available USPS shipping method with tracking, explicitly excluding USPS Media Mail, however we reserve the right to use any other method of delivery at our discretion; in any event you will receive proper tracking information. Charges for shipping are as indicated at checkout. Under no circumstances will we ship with USPS Media Mail. By request we can use other shipping methods, such as UPS or FedEx.

Shipping can be waived on orders picked up at our shop at 1075 Dwight Way in Berkeley, CA. Use the free shipping pickup option at checkout. If you later decide that you need the items shipped, shipping charges will be invoiced separately. Orders for pickup can be reserved ahead of time by contacting us, otherwise they should be ready within two business days, as not all inventory is stored at our shop.

Returns

Returns are accepted for any reason within 30 days of purchase; the buyer is responsible for original and return shipping unless the item is found to be not as described, in which case we will refund the purchase price and twice the original shipping price (return labels and packaging remain the customer's responsibility). Return requests for any reason will not be honored after 30 days. Refunds will be made within 3 business days.

Privacy

Tristan Navarro Rare Books & Manuscripts never shares your contact information or purchase history with any outside party. For further details, see the "Privacy Policy" page on our web site.
