Humorous account of Dr. Eisele and Baron Beisele's attendance at the Leipzig Gymnastics Festival, as well as their antics around the town. Imitating the popular genre of travel literature, the fictional pair was sent on travels around Europe after gaining notoriety in the Munich Fliegende Blätter, a comic newspaper. Eisele and Beisele's fame spread and the two were celebrated with their likenesses reproduced and events put on in their honor.
