Early edition of this spurious collection of "letters" supposedly sent between Claudine-Alexandrine Guerin de Tencin (1682-1749) and the man that would become Pope Clement XIV, Giovanni Vincenzo Antonio Ganganelli. Completely fictitious. Mde. Oddly, the 1790 title page is pasted into the wrapper (visible only in reverse or through a lightbox) of both volumes; it is not a cancel title page, as the title is clearly conjugate with p.13-14 of each volume. Purple stamp "G. de Batz Library" to each title page.
