Nicolas Germain Léonard

French poetry, prose, and music from the latter half of the 18th century. Of the engravings, one is signed by le comte C.D. de Wgt. Provenance: name of George Dumpster, 1799 inked to head of title page. Dempster (1732-1818) was a Scottish MP and agriculturalist, who "greatly improved the condition of his tenants and that of the Scottish peasantry generally" (cf. DNB); bookplate of Walter Dyke Carter. The title appears to read 'Ouvrues' instead of 'Oeuvrues'.
