Collection of detailed prints illustrating fables on fine paper. Giorgio Fossati (1706-1778) was an architect and printmaker whose training shows here in his exceptional rendering of both realistic animals and detailed representations of baroque architecture. Rarely found complete.

Venezia [i.e. Venice]: Carlo Pecora, 1744. 6 volumes bound in 2. Illustrated with 216 engraved plates in several colors,
including black, sanguine, gray, green, and bistre; additional woodcut
illustrations in text. Period calf. Binding somewhat dry and rubbed, much of lettering pieces no longer present, some areas of spine a bit cracked affecting the binding (may split with handling. Light signs of age and offsetting inside, but generally as clean as usually found or better. Very Good+. Item #264
