Lotus Quarterly [3 issues: June 1918, December 1918, March 1919]
Rare literary journal created by English-speaking foreign students in Japan. I was unable to find any institutional copies or any available in the trade, or in fact any mention of this magazine in my research. Includes jokes, poems (some by fifth graders!), local news articles, and coverage of World War I. The Tokyo Foreign School was originally founded in 1902 and is now known as the American School in Japan.
Tokyo: The Tokyo Foreign School, 1918-1919. 3 issues. Comprises: June 1818 (Vol. 1, No. 2); December 1818 (Vol. 1, No. 3); March 1919 (Vol. 1, No. 4). Printed wrappers. Light wear to wrappers, some small chips with loss. Gentle toning, more so to outer leaves and page edges. Very Good. Item #248Price: $750.00
