A Wedding-Ring Fit for the Finger; Or, The Salve of Divinity on the Sore of Humanity
A nineteenth-century chapbook reprint of a sermon originally preached a wedding in 1658. William Secker is known largely for this sermon (cf. DNB). The sermon, on Genesis 3:18 ("And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make an help-meet for him."), deals with the duties, joys, and temptations faced by the married person, and was a perennially popular sermon, as evidenced by this reprint over a century and a half later by M. Randall, a printer active in early 19th-century England.
